Honoring Art Petersen – 1928 – 2021 (age 92)

We at Honor Flight of the Quad Cities were saddened more than you can know, to hear of the passing of our dear friend Art. We are thankful for his selfless contribution of time and effort to support Honor Flight. His passing has left an empty space that we will never be able to entirely fill. As a Vet who defended our nation, it was our privilege to have him as one of our 5,000 honored veterans on an Honor Flight. But of course he was such a part of all of our 50 flights in so many ways.

We are also thankful for his family and friends, who supported him before, during, and after his military service. A wise person once said: “Those who put on the uniform are our knights of old, and our heroes of today, and our hope for the future.”

Visitation for Art Petersen will be Thursday, April 29 from 4 to 6 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries funeral home — View his full obituary — Art Petersen Obituary.
