Honor Flight was honored to be presented a check from Liam Wilcox. Liam became famous in the quad cities for his campaign to replace tattered American flags. As he heads off to Iowa State part of the proceeds of his campaign will now be used to send veterans to Washington DC on an Honor Flight. We are thankful for Liam and all our friends who have supported us with their time, talents, volunteer work, and finances.
Thank you to R.I.A. Credit Union and Kids for Vets!! Their golf outing benefits the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities was a HUGE success! With the help of so many, we were able to raise $46,690 for the Honor Flight. In addition, the Kids For Vets hosted a lemonade stand at the outing and raised an additional $2,000! These will go toward efforts to send veterans to Washington D.C. to view the monuments dedicated in their honor.
JUST ANNOUNCED!!!. The Hauberg Estate will again have a limited amount of Iron Garden Sculptures at this year’s Hauberg Estate Native Plant Sale. May 13th & 14th, 2023. 1300-24th Street, Rock Island, Il.
These sculptures were created by the late Don Hale a Warren County Artist. Don was a veteran of the Korean War and had been on an Honor Flight. Don became a big supporter of the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities program. To honor Don, and all our veterans, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the sculptures will be given to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Over the past 2 Plant Sales, proceeds from Don’s sculptures sales have resulted in $3,000 being donated.
These are the last of Don’s sculptures, his barn studio is empty. So come over next weekend, buy native plants and support the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
